Adult Performance
Adult Performance program is for the purpose of satisfying the needs of three groups of performers; a-vocational, vocational, and teacher/performer. The highest level of participation is screened auditions leading to recital opportunity annually at MTAC Conventions. Other facets of the program include master classes and private lessons.
Composers Today
It parallels Certificate of Merit in the area of music composition. Students and teachers may submit original works for consideration in the Evaluations, the State Contest, the Young Composers' Guild, as well as convention performances. “Composers Today” is a most remarkable program that provides structure and opportunities for composers of all ages and levels of experience. Concerto/Solo Piano Competition
It provides opportunities for high standard competitive performance experience in either concerto or solo performances at the State Convention. Regional competitions are held in the North and South in April. Cash prizes are awarded at the State Convention finals. Not associated with the Certificate of Merit program; students may participate in both.
Improvisation
Improvisation program promotes understanding of keyboard theory and its use in the process of creating spontaneous music. Syllabus is available.
Young Artist Guild
YAG offers semi-professional opportunities to gifted young performers through appearances at branch-sponsored concerts. Students are chosen by audition through the Certificate of Merit program.
Young Composers Guild
YCG offers guidance, scholarships, performance opportunities and professional promotion to promising composers of high school and college age.
