2024 Rabinowitch Piano Competition

• The Contestant must be a student of a Teacher who is an Active Member of the MTAC Palo Alto Branch. and must be in school grade K-12.

• Within the total allotted time, Contestants will be expected to perform 2 pieces from contrasting musical periods (i.e., Baroque, Classical, Romantic, Impressionistic, and Contemporary) of the standard classical repertoire.

• Pieces must be fully memorized and performed by memory.

• Competition pieces must be accurately timed and the total duration of the pieces performed must be within the total allotted time as permitted in each division listed above. The Judges reserve the right to “cut” a Contestant’s performance as deemed necessary and/or if the performance has exceeded the time limit.

• Competition pieces must be CM level-appropriate to the enrolled division. Please refer to the CM Syllabus. The Competition Committee reserves the right to re-categorize a Contestant’s division if the enrolled division is too low or too high.
